2000 Disney Award to MCA Instructor
The
Disney American Teacher Award is an annual program that has been in
existence since 1989. According to their web site, it is a "philanthropic
initiative designed to draw on the resources of The Walt Disney Company to
foster creative, innovative teaching strategies and practices." Their goal
"is to support teachers, schools and parents in their efforts to effectively
engage children in learning. This initiative also seeks to stimulate public
dialogue on the need for creative, engaging approaches to learning that will
enable all children to succeed in the 21st century."
Mrs. Katherine Johnson was one of the 33 finalists in the 2000 Disney "Teacher of
the Year" Award. She teaches SAT I Verbal Prep classes at MCA. You can read
