Ms. Lisa Ishimine

Ms. Ishimine is excited to join the Mill Creek Academy team. After graduating with a major in Integrative Biology and minor in Forestry and Resource Management at UC Berkeley, Ms. Lisa Ishimine pursued a career in education, obtaining her credential at UC Irvine. Since 2000, she has been stimulating the young minds at Mission San Jose High School, having taught College Prep Biology and now Honors Biology. Ms. Ishimine was a teacher by day and a student by night when she earned her Master’s degree in Environmental Education in 2006 at Cal State Hayward.

Ms. Ishimine has a passion for Biology, but has other interests, too. In her spare time, she enjoys eating snacks containing exorbitant amounts of lipids and carbohydrates, observing bryophytes and pterophytes while hiking along nature trails and, of course, spending time with friends and family of a common genus and species (and sometimes of other classifications as well).
