Christine Ko (at left, with Homework Help co-tutor Dipti Kanthilal), a senior at Mission San Jose High School, loves to communicate
and work with people of all ages. She regularly volunteers at Friends of
Children with Special Needs—an organization that specializes in providing
support, teachings, and life lessons to developmentally disabled children
and their families. Her experience at Friends of Children with Special Needs
has helped her acquire the balance of patience and assertiveness needed to
communicate with children.
When she has the chance, she helps her younger
cousins, friends, and her parents' colleagues' children with their
schoolwork. Her work experience includes interning at SDO Communications
Corporations, doing basic data entry and packaging errands. As a pastime,
Christine is also an active member of the youth branch of Tzu-Chi
Foundation—a relief organization focused on disaster relief and community
service. Christine has been a student at Mill Creek Academy since the 4th
grade; therefore, she is familiar with Mill Creek Academy's learning
environment and comfortable communicating with the staff, students, and
parents.
