Mr. Kurt Richey

With over twenty years of experience and a 96% passing
rate for his AP students at Foothill High School in Pleasanton, Mr. Richey
is well versed in both the how and why of essay writing. He
has prepared thousands of students to be ready to face the rigors of essay
writing at some of the finest universities in the country. Regardless of
the courses students plan to take at their high schools, Mr. Richeys course
will prepare motivated students to excel in whatever writing situations they
will face.
A graduate of Mission San Jose High School, UC Davis, and
California State University, Hayward, Mr. Richey has been an award-winning
educator for 15 years. He has been awarded outstanding teaching accolades from
the University of California and Tufts University, and in 1993, he was awarded
runner-up for the New United Motors: Partners in Education, Most Promising New
Teacher grant. A native of the Mission area, Mr. Richey was one of Mrs. Sabraw's
outstanding English students. Later, he was her student teacher, and now is her
colleague. Mr. Richey taught college preparatory and honors English at Mission
San Jose High for six years, five of those spearheading the honors American
literature program with Mrs. Sabraw. Currently, he teaches college preparatory
and honors English at Foothill High School in Pleasanton. He holds a Master's
Degree in English. |
