Ms. Sara Marek
Sara
Sabraw Marek, a Fremont native, is a graduate of Southern Methodist University
in Dallas, Texas, having received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, with a
minor in Political Science, in 1996. As a writing student, Mrs. Marek’s
persuasive essay about women in the military was selected for publication in "Criterion",
the SMU campus literary magazine.
Following graduation from college, Mrs. Marek worked in the Internet industry
for four years until her passion for teaching inspired a career change into
public education. Upon obtaining her California State Teaching Credential, Mrs.
Marek taught English for three years at Centerville Junior High School in
Fremont where she was voted one of the school’s four favorite teachers two years
in a row. Mrs. Marek was an advisor for Centerville’s Conflict Mediation
Program, where she helped students learn effective ways to communicate in order
to solve their problems. Mrs. Marek’s care and concern for each student’s
intellectual, emotional and social development help all of her students reach
their potential.
Mrs. Marek currently serves as
one of the Directors of Mill Creek Academy. In
addition to her administrative duties, Mrs. Marek continues to teach writing at
Mill Creek. She feels fortunate to have honed her teaching and business skills
under the watchful eye of her mother, Cheri Sabraw, founder of the Mill Creek
Academy.
In her free time, Mrs. Marek enjoys spending time with her wonderful husband and
two sons.
