Ms. Sheetal Shukla
Sheetal Shukla recently joined the staff of Mill Creek Academy. She graduated
from Saratoga High School with Very High Honors. Additionally, she was an active
member of the Saratoga Speech and Debate team, competing mainly in Policy
Debate. She was also a doubles player on the tennis team at Saratoga High.
Sheetal then moved to Los Angeles and attended the University of California, Los
Angeles. There, she completed a B.S. in Molecular, Cell, Developmental Biology
and a minor in South Asian Studies. During her four years at UCLA, Sheetal
participated in biomedical research at the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine.
She also participated in CityLab, a student-run volunteer program designed to
teach molecular biology to inner-city high school students. During her senior
year, Sheetal was elected President of the Indian Student Union, an organization
for which she had previously served on the executive board as Vice President.
In the upcoming year, Sheetal will continue pursuing her passion for
Bharatanatyam, a South Indian classical dance form. She is also currently
applying to medical school, and is looking forward to teaching biology, one of
her favorite subjects.
